A discussion paper on how to further improve standards in the migration advice sector was released today by the Assistant Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, the Hon Teresa Gambaro MP.

‘Migration agents are now used by over 70 per cent of applicants in some visa classes,’ Ms Gambaro said.

‘The migration advice profession has the potential for further growth and I am committed to seeing the performance and reputation of migration agents improve along with their expanding client base.’

Ms Gambaro released the wide ranging discussion paper for public comment. Issues examined include:

the continuing adequacy of the regulatory framework for the profession, including whether the profession is ready for a move to self-regulation and dual regulation of lawyer agents

complaints handling procedures and the effectiveness of the Migration Agents’ Registration Authority

how, in certain circumstances, priority processing might work for visa applications lodged through migration agents

the adequacy of the Migration Agents’ Code of Conduct.

‘Migration advice has matured significantly in recent times from a profession that was largely unregulated in Australia before the early 1990s,’ Ms Gambaro said.

‘The Government believes that consumers have a right to expect that they will be provided with advice from migration agents which is accurate, timely, and lawful, and which demonstrates high standards of professional conduct.’

Submissions to the review should be made by October 26, 2007. Copies of the paper are available electronically.

Hill stations are always preferred by tourists across the world. On summers hill stations are heaven but soon they lose their charm as the winter draws near. However there are some places which are hill stations and they attract tourists throughout the year. Winters are not a drawback for them rather it is the winters for which they wait! Breckenridge is a quaint town situated near the famous Colorado Mountains. Breckenridge is a famous tourist destination for people who love mountains and also some adventure sports. Breckenridge is famous for snow skiing which the tourists enjoy the most. Though it seems that the real tourist influx is in the winters only, somehow it is not the truth. Breckenridge has the ability to charm its visitors throughout the year. There isn’t any particular time when it is best to visit Breckenridge. Along with skiing there are various other activities which you can do to entertain yourself.

Breckenridge as a town was established in the year 1859 when a group of men and women found this place. This place later on became famous because it had huge gold reserves and soon many people came here to make fortunes. This place thus became a major mining place for gold, when the British Empire also took its chance and made fortunes. Slowly and gradually this place turned into a famous tourist place and thus tourist started coming in huge numbers. With so many tourists coming Breckenridge opted for different options for accommodation purposes. Apart from hotels and lodges it also opted for Condominiums.

Breckenridge Condos are the best options for those tourists who value their privacy. It is also suitable for those tourists who plan to make a long stay at Breckenridge. Condominiums are actually multiple dwelling units clubbed in one place. However all the units are owned by separate individual owners. Only the common places and open spaces are jointly owned. Moreover the rentals of Breckenridge Condos are quite lower than the Breckenridge hotels and lodges. It is so because these condos don’t charge any sort of management charges. You will just have to give the rent which the owner demands. Breckenridge Condos reservations are not at all a problem. For Breckenridge Condo reservations you can either take the help of various agents or else you can book it online. You are provided with photographs of the house so that you are able to make a clear decision and you are aware in which type of house you will be residing.

A comfortable half days drive from Perth transports you to the different world that is the Blackwood River Valley. The gem in the crown of Western Australia’s South West, the Valley is the ultimate country retreat for those who want to step back from the hustle and bustle of their everyday lives, breathe in some pure, fresh air and let the world pass them by for a few days. Fertile soils and the temperate climate support lush green farmlands and thick forests that are criss crossed by the wide and ambling Blackwood River and its tributaries, creating an environment that is as suited to adventure as it is to relaxation.

The Valley has a host of attractions, man made and natural, and the friendly locals are always keen to help out visitors that need some inside knowledge on where to go and what to do. The towns in the Valley are renowned as some of the most picturesque and historical in the country. Nestled in amongst the farmlands and the forests these cosy and charming hamlets are rich in culture and heritage, and one of the chief attractions for tourists coming to this region is to visit the many arts and crafts galleries or antique stores in the area. Boyup Brook is one of these quaint towns. Known as the centre of country music in the region, there is a country music club and store there that are somewhat iconic. The wide, garden lined streets of the town are characteristic of the area, and in the spring when the wildflowers bloom Boyup Brook turns into a sea of colour. There is a museum here that is dedicated to showcasing the achievements of our early pioneers, so pop in there for an educational and interesting visit.

Nannup is another popular centre for travelers to base themselves because there is plenty of diversity in its immediate surrounds. Magnificent jarrah and karri forests lie side by side with rolling farmlands, and as a result of these landscapes its become well known for its range of outdoor activities. Mountain biking, trout fishing, kayaking and bushwalking are all popular pursuits that are well catered for by the Nannup locals, so for some outdoor exhilaration definitely pay this town a visit. It is also a centre for the arts, crafts and antique galleries in the region, so if you get tired of the great outdoors head in for a browse of some of the locally produced exhibits.

If you are looking for a secluded and luxurious place to stay in Nannup, then the Beyonderup Falls Country Escape is the perfect choice. Deluxe self contained chalets overlook the wide and slow flowing Blackwood River, and you’ll wake up to the view of the early morning mist rising off its chilly surface. The chalets have everything you would expect in a home, allowing you to enjoy your holiday in comfort and style. Have a look at their website, www.beyonderup.com.au for more information, and then give them a ring to start planning your holiday to this region.

There is an amazing amount of exploring to be done in the Blackwood Valley. The fertility of the soil provides high quality local produce, and a drive through the farms and wineries is a must if you want to sample some of this and stock up on some classy wines to take home. Stop in at the small towns on the way and sample gourmet foods and wines in the friendly and family run restaurants that are famous for their hearty country fare. Alternatively there are an endless amount of picnic spots with fantastic views if you fancy a bit of peace and quiet. The scenic drives in the Valley and well marked and there are lots of them, but one of the best ones is the journey along the Blackwood River from Balingup to Nannup. Its only ninety kilometres long, and will take an hour and a half if you do it in one hit. Take time to stop and visit the cheese factory along the way, or pop into some of the wineries on the road.

Traveling through the Blackwood River Valley can be done in comfort and style with a hire car from Discovery Rentals. All mountain skis tend to have deep sidecuts, wide buckets and flared tails. This enables the intermediate to advanced skier to simply place the skis on edge and let the magic of parabolic dimensions do the hard work for you.

Some rental shops in Winter Park will also carry mogul specific skis. For those individuals who love zipper line bumps, this mountain will satisfy all. Do lap after lap of perfectly formed moguls that Winter Park and Mary Jane are known for. Mogul specific skis are much narrower by comparison than other types of skis. They generally have little or no sidecut and tend to be very flexible in the tail. This allows a skier to alternate edge to edge very quickly which is needed for skiing tight mogul lines. Remember the phrase “No Pain”¦No Jane”?.

Stand atop the Vail Mountain and experience the most celebrated ski resort in North America. Then explore Vail’s three distinct areas: the Front Side, Back Bowls, and Blue Sky Basin. 5289 acres of terrain offers something for everyone. To maximize your time spent skiing at Vail it is imperative that you rent the proper skis for your Vail vacation. Read more about Vail ski rentals and Vail ski shops.

If your visiting Vail, Colorado from out of town, it is often easier if you leave the dusty old skis at home and experience cutting edge technology at one of the many ski shops throughout Valley. Skiing Vail Mountain Resort is a deeply rewarding experience but is pure mountain magic when you rent the proper skis for the task at hand. Read about renting the ideal ski gear for your vacation to Vai, Colorado.

Most visitors choose to organize their Vail ski rentals in advance. This saves time and money. Instead of waiting in line and having to fill out paperwork for your rental gear, why not do it online prior to arriving? Simply provide your skier information including height, weight, skiing ability and desired equipment and that’s it. All you have to do is show up to the selected Vail ski shop and pick up your rentals.

Depending on many variables, choosing the right ski for the current conditions, your current skiing ability, and the terrain you would like to ski can seem difficult, but it doesn’t have to be. Here is a general guideline for various types of skis which can all be found in the Vail Valley.

When pacific weather patterns funnel winter storms into the Vail Valley, you can expect the back bowls of Vail to get buried by the feather light snow that the Colorado Rockies are known for. Renting your very own Powder planks are an excellent choice for those looking to take advantage of fresh snow. Powder skis are much wider under foot than other types of equipment. This enables as much surface float as possible while providing solid stability. Powder skis tend to be a little longer than other skis which also helps carry your weight. Again, renting powder skis in Vail, Colorado is a popular choice for storm chasers. The best part is, some of the shops in Vail will let you swap out different equipment so you can ski various types of skis depending on the conditions.

Some get nostalgic for carving smooth effortless turns in manicured groomed snow. There is something magical about leaning into your turns and having full trust in your edges. With the most groomed terrain on the planet, Vail Resort is a playground for corduroy enthusiasts. All-mountain skis provide this level of security whilst giving the skier the advantage to take the skis off piste as well. All mountain skis tend to have deep sidecuts, wide buckets and flared tails. This enables the intermediate to advanced skier to simply place the skis on edge and let the magic of parabolic dimensions do the hard work for you.

Some rental shops in Vail will also carry mogul specific skis. For those individuals who love zipper line bumps, this mountain will satisfy all. Do lap after lap of perfectly formed moguls off such runs as Prima, Pronto, Log Chute, Highline and Rogers Run. Mogul skiing in Vail has been put on the map from the likes of world cup skier Toby Dawson who resides in Vail. Mogul specific skis are much narrower by comparison than other types of skis. They generally have little or no sidecut and tend to be very flexible in the tail. This allows a skier to alternate edge to edge very quickly which is needed for skiing tight mogul lines.
